About me:

I'm Thomas Campbell, a Site Reliability Engineer/Developer based in Austin, TX. With a professional passion for Creation, Automation, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies, and all things DevOps. Finding satisfaction in enhancing my skills, I am dedicated to creating functional, practical, and scaleable systems/content. I am always looking for ways to improve my knowledge and grow my skillset.

I have focused my career on Kubernetes, Cloud Providers/Infrastructure, Automation, Software Development, and Reliability. I am driven by a desire to reduce unnecessary work through scripting, automation, and self-healing systems.

In my free time I keep busy maintaining a homelab, hiking, climbing, camping, coding personal projects, woodworking, tending to my animals, and playing games.

Remote, USA

Devops Engineer focused on government contracts, specifically with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Worked with cutting-edge technologies to facilitate proper CI/CD and Agile design principles. Implemented, developed, and maintained CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes/Helm to automate the build, test, and deployment processes. Participated in daily stand-ups and on-call rotations to swiftly address and resolve incidents with minimal downtime. Received recognition as 'Rookie of the Year' for efforts and results provided on the contract.

Developed a deduplication script using Python, utilizing libraries such as numpy and recordlinkage. Worked to optimize algorithms and adapt to changing project requirements. Trained in DevOps to company standards in Terraform, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc. to prepare for a transition to a full time DevOps Engineer.
